ugh (06/25/2009)

I first posted this on my personal journal on June 25, 2009.

An intern from Air America got a blogger page on HuffPo and she ticked me off.

Iran Elections: Quit Turning Your Twitter Avatars Green and Do Something
If you've been on the Internet in the last week and a half, you've know: Green is the hot new color. Twitter avatars, Facebook profile pictures, Web site logos...Iran's Sea of Green has taken over the Internet. It's a well-intentioned fad, but a fad nonetheless, and it's time for it to end.

here's my reply after the other guy

...I'm a bit obsessed by the Iran Election as y'all can tell by my posts on my journal. And I know in the grade scheme of things I'm not helping out as much as other people *coughAnonymouscough* but damnit I am doing something to help people. I don't care what you (Ms. Wickman) think but even people who just turn their icons green (like several people I know on twitter and ij and lj) they are spreading the message and showing that they support this people and that is what matters. That we get more people on their side and show their support because that puts pressure on the world government and Iran.

Considering all that, I think I let her off pretty lightly, the guy ahead of me called her condescending and insulting. heh
